- Biographical Note:
- York received his Ph.D. from Cornell University. In 1949 he was appointed Associate Professor of Agronomy at N.C. State College in 1949. He was Project Leader in soil fertility research with peanuts. In 1953 he was appointed Head of the Agronomy Department at N.C. State College. York resigned in 1959.
