- Biographical Note:
- Memory earned his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He joined the NCSU faculty in 1964 as an Associate Professor of Physics, eventually becoming a Professor of Physics and Associate Dean of the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. He was appointed Vice Provost and Dean of the Graduate School at NCSU in 1982, and served as the Vice President for Research of the UNC System from 1986 to 1998.
