Title:
Head sire bull on Ashcraft farm
Description:
Transcribed from accompanying material: No. 1: How-do-you-do? I am Ixia Oxford Laurel Lad. I am the head sire on Mr. H. G. Ashcraft and Joe Ashcraft's farm on Park Road, Charlotte, N. C. I am proud of my 36 heifers. Joe said he was proud of them and Mr. Ashcraft is too, I think. The daughter that Joe likes best is 26 months of age, and on her best day produced 34 pounds of milk. To date, Joe says that in the Cow Testing Association he belongs to, that this daughter of mine made 235.9 pounds of butter fat in 177 days. My sire's name is Ixia Oxford Lad, Imp. They tell me that he has ten Register of Merit daughters that average 593 pounds of fat. I am kind of proud of my dam, also. Her name is Oxfordia's Laurel Leaf. She is also imported. They tell me that she had an island record at the age of three years of 15,335 pounds of milk and 841 pounds of butter. They tell me also that she has two gold medals. I am kind of proud to be on Mr. Ashcraft's and Joe's farm. They treat me well, but I like them most for treating my daughters well, by having them on test with the Cow Testing Association.
