In the recording, Jeremy Park (‘20) and Jasmine Wang (‘20) discuss: current trends in popular culture and music; political activism and protests in response to the election of Donald Trump; understanding their identities as first-generation Asian Americans; Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month; stereotypes of Asian American men; the complexity of race; representation of Asian Americans in the media; the myth of the “model minority”; supporting diverse interests and career paths within the AAPI community; and the importance of speaking up and educating each other.
