Description:
Fertilizer packets placed in a slit 2 to 4 inches from the loblolly seedlings root systems shortly after planting increased total volume of the seedlings after two years in the field by 49% in hardwood conversion areas and by 8% in an old field. Survival was not affected by fertilization, and weed growth was not stimulated.
