Provenance note:
Major James Scarborough (planter and veteran of the American Revolution), first owner. Windham is the attributed builder.
Historical note:
The house was constructed prior to Scarborough's fourth marriage, to Martha Eason, in 1823, and remains in the family. The structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
