- B. Frank Mebane (patent medicine producer), first owner
- Historical note:
- Located one block south of Main Street in Mebane, NC on Highway 119. The home was built around 1848 for General Alexander Mebane, founder of the township Mebaneville. General Mebane was responsible for a major trade route through Mebaneville and was also founder of Bingham School, a former military school located in Mebaneville. B. Frank Mebane was one of the early settlers of Mebane, which began to attract residents after the arrival of the railroad in 1855. The house was later converted into a boarding house for tobacco farmers.
