Emma Carter

Emma Carter, a third year student studying sociology and international studies, became Student Body President in 2019. She was previously a senator representing the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and a delegate to the UNC System Association of Student Governments.

Her campaign, with a theme of “This is about the Pack,” was based on five principles: accessibility and inclusion, connection, collaboration, being an ally and sustainability. Carter announced plans to address the first year live-on campus requirement, educate students about sustainability, and ensure professors use preferred pronouns of students. She also hopes to focus on mental health and wellness of the student body.
