Biographical Note:
Richard L. Anderson was a statistics professor at NCSU where he worked for 26 years. He earned his undergraduate degree in mathematics from DePauw University and earned his Ph.D. from Iowa State College. Anderson was a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Statistical Association (ASA), and the Institute for Mathematical Statistics, and a member of the International Statistical Institute and the Biometric Society. He served as the President of the American Statistical Association in 1982, and co-authored “Statistical Theory in Research.”
