Summer 2025 closure

The D. H. Hill Jr. Library will be closed beginning on Monday, May 5, 2025, for planned electrical work. The Special Collections Research Center is located in Hill Library, and will be closed for all appointments during this period. Special Collections can only make appointment requests until April 25th and after August 3, 2025. During the closure, Special Collections staff will be available to answer questions about our collections, if they are accessible, and to support researchers using digital materials for their research. Blalock, T. Carlton (Thomas Carlton), 1924-2014

Biographical Note:
Dr. Carlton Blalock received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from NC State in animal science and his Ph.D. in extension administration from the University of Wisconsin. He was the specialist in charge of dairy husbandry and a district leader. Blalock was named Assistant Director of the NC Agricultural Extension Service, and state 4-H leader. He was named Associate Director and Director of the Extension Service. After retiring as Director of the NC Agricultural Extension Service, he was named Executive Vice President of the Tobacco Growers Association of NC. Dr. T. Carlton Blalock was inducted as a 2006 National 4-H Hall of Fame laureate.
