Beatty, K. O. (Kenneth Orion), 1913-

Biographical Note:
Professor for the School of Engineering from 1946-1979, he became an Emeritus Professor of Chemical Engineering 1979. In 1961 he was the first recipient of the Reynolds Professorship in Chemical Engineering, which was the highest professional rank in the School of Engineering at that time. He received several awards and accolades such as being listed in Who’s Who in the South and Southeast. He attained a number of research grants, one of the most notable from NASA. He became a Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the highest honor bestowed upon chemical engineers in this country, in 1974.
