- Biographical Note:
- Robert B. Adair graduated from NC State College with a degree in ceramic engineering in 1942. After serving in the Army, Adair worked as an Associate Engineer for Watson Laboratories in Red Bank, NJ before rejoining NC State as a researcher in the Department of Engineering in 1947.
