- Biographical Note:
- John Allen Arey received his B.S. and M.S. in 1909 and 1910 from NC State. He was the Head of Dairy Extension, North Carolina Agricultural Extension Service, from 1920-1953. In 1953 he was News & Observer's Tar Heel of the Week. He is called the "father of North Carolina dairying" and developed the Dairy Herd Improvement Association.
