- Biographical Note:
- Dr. Roy N. Anderson joined the NCSU faculty in 1946, and was the Occupational Information and Guidance Department Head at the time of his retirement in 1967. Born in Denver Colorado in 1902, Dr. Anderson received his B.A. degree from the University of Denver and his Ph.D. in Guidance and Personnel from Columbia University. He was on the faculty at Columbia from 1928 until 1943. He served for a three-year period in industrial personnel work prior to working at NCSU. He was known nationally for his work in the guidance and counseling field, and in 1969 he was awarded a distinguished service award by the N.C Personnel and Guidance Association for his outstanding contributions to the counseling and guidance profession. He died on July 16, 1973.
