Summer 2025 closure

The D. H. Hill Jr. Library will be closed beginning on Monday, May 5, 2025, for planned electrical work. The Special Collections Research Center is located in Hill Library, and will be closed for all appointments during this period. Special Collections can only make appointment requests until April 25th and after August 3, 2025. During the closure, Special Collections staff will be available to answer questions about our collections, if they are accessible, and to support researchers using digital materials for their research. Biebigheiser, Lloyd Winchell

Biographical Note:
Lloyd Winchell Biebigheiser (1884-1961) was an architect and designer trained in the Beaux Arts tradition. Biebigheiser was hired by architect Jens Fredrik Larson to design the ornamental features--lighting fixtures and chandeliers, stone and wood carvings, and wrought iron designs--for Wake Forest College's new Winston-Salem campus. Biebigheiser also worked for Northup and O'Brien.
