- Biographical Note:
- Thomas Everette Browne (1881-1965) received his B.A. from Wake Forest College in 1902 and his M.A. in education from Columbia University in 1925. He began his work with NC State in 1913 as Assistant State Agent in charge of club work in the NCSU Extension Service. Browne organized the Department of Vocational Education as well as the Department of Teacher Training in the NC State Department of Public Instruction. Browne is credited with establishing the Future Farmers of America program for North Carolina during his tenure as Dean of the School of Education at NCSU. Browne retired from the University in 1947.
