- Biographical Note:
- York received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from NCSU in 1963. He was a Raleigh City Council member from 1977 to 1979 and Mayor of Raleigh from 1979 to 1983. York was inducted into the Raleigh Hall of Fame in 2007.
