- Biographical Note:
- Robert Wesley Truitt received his Ph.D. from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1954. Prior to that time, Truitt worked for NC State as an Instructor in Aeronautical Engineering, Coordinator of CPT Flight and Ground Training Program, and Assistant Professor of Aeronautical Engineering. After a short time away from the College, Truitt returned to NCSU as Professor and Head of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Following Truitt’s death, the University named Truitt Auditorium in his honor.
