Splinter, William E., 1925-

Biographical Note:: William E. Splinter received his Ph.D. from Michigan State (College) University in agricultural engineering. Splinter joined the faculty at North Carolina State University in 1954 as a Professor in the Department of Agriculture Engineering. Before leaving N.C. State in 1968 to head the Department of Agricultural at the University of Nebraska, Splinter helped develop a mechanical tobacco harvester and a mechanical tobacco transplanter.
