- Biographical Note:
- Lindsay McD. Silvester received his B.S. degree from Maryland Agricultural College before joining the U.S. Army in 1911. After serving in World War I, Silvester attended the Student Army War College from 1929-1930. Following his time with the Army War College, the War Department ordered Major Lindsay to report for duty at NC State.
