- Biographical Note:
- Paul E. Lewis received his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois in 1940. Lewis was appointed Director of the NCSU Computing Center and Professor of Mathematics in 1965, ten years after leaving his post as Associate Professor of Mathematics. In 1970 Lewis was named Head of NCSU’s Department of Computer Science.
