- Biographical Note:
- John Mitchell Jenkins received his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota in 1946. In that same year, he was appointed Professor of Horticulture Science and Superintendent of the Horticulture Crops Research Station at Castle Hayne. He retired from the University in 1972. During his time at NCSU, Jenkins received numerous awards for his research.
