- Biographical Note:
- Hassler received his Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering from Michigan State University. He joined the NCSU faculty in 1950 and served as a Professor from 1954-1961, at which time he became the Head of the Biological and Agricultural Engineering Department. He was the William Neal Reynolds Professor of Agricultural Engineering at NCSU. In 1983 he received the Outstanding Engineering Award from the N.C. Society of Engineers. In 1955 he headed a research team that developed bulk curing for tobacco. He retired in 1987.
