Summer 2025 closure

The D. H. Hill Jr. Library will be closed beginning on Monday, May 5, 2025, for planned electrical work. The Special Collections Research Center is located in Hill Library, and will be closed for all appointments during this period. Special Collections can only make appointment requests until April 25th and after August 3, 2025. During the closure, Special Collections staff will be available to answer questions about our collections, if they are accessible, and to support researchers using digital materials for their research. Hassler, Francis J.

Biographical Note:
Hassler received his Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering from Michigan State University. He joined the NCSU faculty in 1950 and served as a Professor from 1954-1961, at which time he became the Head of the Biological and Agricultural Engineering Department. He was the William Neal Reynolds Professor of Agricultural Engineering at NCSU. In 1983 he received the Outstanding Engineering Award from the N.C. Society of Engineers. In 1955 he headed a research team that developed bulk curing for tobacco. He retired in 1987.
