Summer 2025 closure

The D. H. Hill Jr. Library will be closed beginning on Monday, May 5, 2025, for planned electrical work. The Special Collections Research Center is located in Hill Library, and will be closed for all appointments during this period. Special Collections can only make appointment requests until April 25th and after August 3, 2025. During the closure, Special Collections staff will be available to answer questions about our collections, if they are accessible, and to support researchers using digital materials for their research. Hamilton, C. Horace (Charles Horace), 1901-1977

Biographical Note:
Professor of Rural Sociology from 1931-1936, Head of the Department of Rural Sociology from 1940-1960, and Reynolds Professor 1961-1967. He was elected Fellow in the American Statistical Association in 1956 and received the Oliver Max Gardner Award in 1958. In 1960, he was named President of the Population Association of America. Hamilton is named in Who’s Who in America and the Directory of American Scholars.
