- Biographical Note:
- Don Edwin Ellis received his Ph.D. from UNC-Chapel Hill. He accepted an appointment as Assistant Professor in Research and Extension at NCSU in 1940. By 1944 he had attained the rank of Associate Professor. Ellis became a full Professor in 1950. In 1954 he was appointed Head of Plant Pathology in the Department of Botany. His research included plant diseases.
