- Biographical Note:
- Professor for the Dept. of History from 1959-1974, Founding Dean for the Division of Undergraduate Studies 1991-1992, Assistant and then Associate Provost for Undergraduate Studies 1982 from 1982 until 1994 when he retired and became an Emeritus Professor of British History. He received his Ph.D. from Duke University in 1959.
