- Biographical Note:
- Fred J. DeJarnette received his B.S. and M.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1965. He became Associate Professor at NCSU from 1970-71 and Professor from 1971 to present. DeJarnette was also graduate administrator, Associate Head of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Department Head from 1993 to present. He received the Outstanding Teacher Award in 1974 and the O.Max Gardner Award for most Outstanding Faculty member in the UNC-System in 1990. He received the Graduate Alumni Distinguished Professor award in 1990-1992.
