- James Kirk Coggin received his B.S. degree in vocational education at NC State in 1920 and his M.S. from Cornell University in 1928. Coggin, appointed Professor of Agriculture Education at NCSU in 1935, authored various books, articles, and manuals. He retired from the University in 1959.
