Summer 2025 closure

The D. H. Hill Jr. Library will be closed beginning on Monday, May 5, 2025, for planned electrical work. The Special Collections Research Center is located in Hill Library, and will be closed for all appointments during this period. Special Collections can only make appointment requests until April 25th and after August 3, 2025. During the closure, Special Collections staff will be available to answer questions about our collections, if they are accessible, and to support researchers using digital materials for their research. Some materials will not be available for reproduction requests. Please contact us!

Carson, Robert G.

Biographical Note:
Robert Carson served on the NCSU faculty for 20 years. He was Professor and Head of the Industrial Engineering Department from 1955 to 1957, and served as NCSU's affirmative action officer. Carson was Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the School of Engineering from 1963 to 1975. He was director of the Kabul Afghan-American Program, a university consortium that helped develop an engineering school at the University of Kabul, Afghanistan from 1963 to 1973. In 1967 he was named a Fellow of the American Institute of Industrial Engineers. Carson, a World War II veteran, retired in 1975.
