- Biographical Note:
- William L. Carpenter was named head of the Department of Agricultural Information at NC State in 1959. He earned his B.S. in agricultural economics from NCSU in 1955, and his M.S in agricultural journalism from the University of Wisconsin. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Force. He is the author of "Knowledge is power: a history of the School of Agriculture and Life Sciences at North Carolina State University, 1877-1984."
