- Vic Sorrel, of Morrisville, North Carolina, coached North Carolina State University's baseball team from 1946-1966. Prior to beginning his career at N. C. State, he played for Wake Forest University, and, from 1928-1937, played professionally as a pitcher for the Detroit Tigers.
