Summer 2025 closure

The D. H. Hill Jr. Library will be closed beginning on Monday, May 5, 2025, for planned electrical work. The Special Collections Research Center is located in Hill Library, and will be closed for all appointments during this period. Special Collections can only make appointment requests until April 25th and after August 3, 2025. During the closure, Special Collections staff will be available to answer questions about our collections, if they are accessible, and to support researchers using digital materials for their research. Gould's Water Pump Installation
Description:
A typical installation of a water system pump in the barn of a large dairy farm. This 3.4-horse-powered jet-type pump draws water from a 160-foot well, with a water level sufficiently high so that the jet assembly is placed at a depth of 90 to 100 feet. This type pump is interchangeable for either shallow well or deep well operation.
