- Description:
- This folder contains records related to an invention to control the growth of "suckers" on the nodes of tobacco plants, using the application of chemicals. North Carolina State College applied for the patent rights of an invention developed by their agricultural engineers, the recognition and intellectual control of the application of mineral oil to recently "topped" tobacco stalks to prevent lateral buds ("suckers") from forming, as well as an applicator device for administering the oil. Included are patent applications and other forms, correspondence and memorandums, contractual agreements, and other related records.
