- W. P. Wood and other with seedlings
- Description:
- Transcribed from back: #97 [Made By L. A. Powell]; Mr. W. P. Wood, of Elizabeth City, is shown on his farm in Currituck County, on the left of the picture immediately after he trenched 1000 cedars, 1000 black locust, and 1000 loblolly pines. These seedlings were kept banked until they were to be transplanted. Each bunch of seedlings were placed in a bucket of moist dirt, and the roots were not given a chance to dry out before they were transplanted. Excellent results were obtained.
