Summer 2025 closure

The D. H. Hill Jr. Library will be closed beginning on Monday, May 5, 2025, for planned electrical work. The Special Collections Research Center is located in Hill Library, and will be closed for all appointments during this period. Special Collections can only make appointment requests until April 25th and after August 11, 2025. During the closure, Special Collections staff will be available to answer questions about our collections, if they are accessible, and to support researchers using digital materials for their research. Transcribed from back: Farm Forestry Series [#439] By R.W. Graeber, Extension Forester; Farm Boys from the Rutherfordton High School piling wood thinned from 1/10 acre at the farm of J. C. Buff. After measurement result they found tat they had taken a harvest of 1.5 cords or 15 cords per acre from these cull trees, and leaving a double crop of 350 trees per acre for future harvests. THIN TIMBER IT PAYS.
