Summer 2025 closure

The D. H. Hill Jr. Library will be closed beginning on Monday, May 5, 2025, for planned electrical work. The Special Collections Research Center is located in Hill Library, and will be closed for all appointments during this period. Special Collections can only make appointment requests until April 25th and after August 3, 2025. During the closure, Special Collections staff will be available to answer questions about our collections, if they are accessible, and to support researchers using digital materials for their research. Description:
Transcribed from accompanying material: April 1942; Made by Oscar H. Phillips; Registered Jersey cow, Mecklenburg [County]; A registered Jersey cow owned by Arthur McAulay. In 1933 Arthur McAulay received a registered Jersey heifer in a 4-H calf club contest sponsored by the Kiwanis Club in Charlotte. Arthur now has a herd of 15 cows and heifers. Arthur is married now and has two boys just as pure-bred as the Jerseys. Used in: Charlotte Observer, April 27, 1942
