This pumping plant drained lake Mattamuskeet, a lake area of 50,000 acres and a watershed area of 100,000 acres. The plant consists of four batteries each of which has four large centrifugal pumps attached. Steam driven. The capacity of plant is 1,000,000 gallons per minute. new Holland Corp., New Holland, N.C.
