Description:
Transcribed from cover verso of University Directory, North Carolina State University, 1973: [Photo] commemorates an important milestone in the development of the character and programs of North Carolina State University. The photo was taken on October 23, 1965, at the dedication of the site in Iredell County where the first agricultural extension demonstration in North Carolina was given by a county agent in 1908-1909. Attending the ceremonies were (left to right) Robert W. Shoffner, a former extension director; Governor Dan K. Moore; Dean Emeritus I. O. Schaub (1880-1971), then 85 years old, who had been the first extension professor for the University (1909); Dr. George Hyatt, present director of the Extension Service; and David S. Weaver (1896-1966), a former director of extension.
