Chicago, Ill., Nov. 28 -- Seven North Carolina 4-H'ers have been named national winners at the 41st National 4-H Club Congress in Chicago. Each of the young people received an award of a $400 scholarship. National winners attending the Congress are (front l to r): Norman Nifong, 21, Winston Salem -- achievement program sponsored by Ford Motor Company Fund; David Aman, 19, Jacksonville -- electric program sponsored by Westinghouse Education Foundation; Paul Gallimore Jr., Back row -- Betsy Ann Chandler, 17, Durham -- canning program sponsored by Kerr Glass Manufacturing Corporation; Judy Kay Parker, 18, Benson -- clothing program sponsored by Coats & Clark Inc.; Betty Scott, 18, Brown Summit -- dairy foods demonstration program sponsored by Carnation Company; and Brenda Fairless, 18, Colerain -- home economics program sponsored by Montgomery Ward. These young people are among the 1,500 delegates participating in the annual 4-H event conducted by the Cooperative Extension Service and arranged by the National 4-H Service Committee.
