Chicago, Ill., Nov. 26 -- Twelve 4-H Club girls, national winners in the 4-H Club clothing program, each received a $400 college scholarship here today. The awards were presented during the 41st National 4-H Club Congress and were provided by Coats & Clark Inc. John Clark (left), president of the donor company also presented each girl with a pen. National winners, seated from left, were Janet Detch, 17, Bullville, N. Y.; Dorsi Seebeck, 18, Jones, Okla.; and Patricia Hutchinson, 18, Beverly, Mass.; and standing, from left, Sandrea Ewert, 20, Unity, Wis.; Marilyn Hoffman, 20, Earlville, Ill.; Patti Smith, 17, Safford, Ariz.; Sandra Thornton, 17, Winnsboro, La.; Judy Kay Parker, 18, Benson, N. C.; Carolyn Smith, 19, Olanta, S. C.; Deanna Akers, 19, Dexter, Mo.; Ruth Ann Bell, 17, Cheyenne, Wyo.; and Marian Durliat, 18, Custar, Ohio. The National 4-H Clothing program is conducted by the Cooperative Extension Service and is arranged by the National 4-H Service Committee.
