Item information
- Title:
- Trees in pasture grazed by cattle
- Description:
- Transcribed from front: Utilization; HHB-685; Area where cattle were kept through January. The cattle browsed off practically all the needles on these trees up to 6 [feet]. Some of the smaller trees were stripped completely. Feed was scarce in this area and the cattle were supplemented with cottonseed meal during the last two weeks. There were about 500 trees in the area. It is possible that cattle are more apt to browse these trees in winter than in summer. Taken at Wenona, North Carolina. 1/30/42
