Description:
Transcribed from front: Utilization; HHB-628; Taken in 96 acre winter pasture. Groundsel-tree, Baccharis halimifolia, showing heavy utilization soon after the cattle were turned in the pasture. Reeds comprised practically all of the feed in this pasture and the cattle apparently took groundsel-tree to get variety. Observations elsewhere show it to be low in palatability. Taken at Wenona Station, North Carolina. 11/30/40
