Transcribed from front: Accidental Fires; HHB-680; Results of fire in dry peat soil. Taken in one of the pastures used in the creep feeding experiment. From 20 to 25 percent of the soil surface in each of this set of pastures burned this way. The fire [occurred] in early December. Was about the driest fall season on record. Taken at Wenona, North Carolina. 1/30/42
