Summer 2025 closure

The D. H. Hill Jr. Library will be closed beginning on Monday, May 5, 2025, for planned electrical work. The Special Collections Research Center is located in Hill Library, and will be closed for all appointments during this period. Special Collections can only make appointment requests until April 25th and after August 3, 2025. During the closure, Special Collections staff will be available to answer questions about our collections, if they are accessible, and to support researchers using digital materials for their research. Transcribed from accompanying material: Cattle (General); HHB-1170; Some of the cattle used in an experiment to develop beef cattle especially adapted to the Coastal Plain. Brahman and Africander bulls are crossed with Hereford cows and the first cross calves are compared with Hereford calves. These cattle are also used in an experiment to study the effects on the forage and cattle of different intensities of grazing. Taken at Hofmann Forest. North Carolina. 5-24-45.
