(Photo by Burnie Batchelor); Dave Buckley: Dave Buckey, 27, is in his third season with the Wolfpack. The former N. C. State quarterback coaches the wide receivers and the quarterbacks. During his years with the Wolfpack, Dave set various records and helped State to four straight bowl appearances, including three wins. He was named all-Atlantic Coach Conference quarterback in 1975. Dave is married to the former Cathy Justham of Akron, Ohio, his native hometown. Pete Carroll: Pete Carroll, 29, is in his first season at N. C. State and is the defensive coordinator as well as the defensive back coach. Prior to coming to State, Pete coached at University of the Pacific, Arkansas, Iowa State and Ohio State. At Ohio State, three of his defensive backs were named all-Big 10 in 1979. He was an all-Pacific Coast Conference safety in 1971 and 1972 while playing for the University of the Pacific. Pete is married to the former Glena Goranson of Manhattan, [California], and they have a son, Brennan Peter. Guy Ingles: Guy Ingles, 31, is in his first season with the Wolfpack. He coaches the running backs. His previous coaching experience includes stints at Nebraska and North Texas State. He was head freshman coach at Nebraska and helped the Cornhuskers to six bowl appearances. A graduate of Nebraska, Guy was a named second-team all-Big Eight as a tight end in 1970, the year the Cornhuskers won the national title. A native of Omaha, [Nebraska], Guy is married to the former Jeannette Marie Varvel of Greeley, [Colorado]. Dick Kupec: Dick Kupec, 37, is in his first season with N. C. State and is the offensive coordinator as well as the coach of the offensive line. Highly respected in the profession, Kupec has been a coach at East Carolina, Duke and Virginia and comes to State from East Carolina where impressive lines were the norm the past several years. He was an all-Yankee Conference guard and linebacker at Connecticut where he also lettered in ice hockey. Dick, a native of Ossining, [New York], is married to the former Shelia Dolan of New York City. They have two sons, Tom and Scott. Rick Minter: Rick Minter, 26, is in his first season with the Wolfpack and is the defensive end coach. Rick comes to State from Louisiana Tech where he served for one year. Prior to that, he coached at Arkansas and Henderson State, where he graduated "Cum Laude" as well as helping his team as a defensive end to the NAIA [National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics] Championship Bowl in 1974. Rick also advises the Wolfpack players on academics. A native of Texarkana, [Arkansas], he is married to the former Mary Ellen McEwen of Little Rock. Greg Robinson: Greg Robinson, 29, is in his first season at N. C. State and is the linebacker coach. He comes to the Wolfpack from a similar position at Cal State-Fullerton where he coached for the three seasons. Prior to that he coached at his alma mater, the University of the Pacific, where he was named the Most Inspirational Player on the team. He also was a linebacker and tight end on the Bakersfield Junior College team that was No. 1 in the nation in 1970. He is a native of Bakersfield, [California] and is married to the former Laura Breakey of Salem, [Oregon]. They have a son, Dominic. Johnny Rodgers: Johnny Rogers, 30, is in his first season with the Wolfpack. He comes to N. C. State from East Carolina where he has coached the last two years. At State, Johnny is the tight end coach. He was a four-year tight end at Winston-Salem State University and was named all-CIAA [Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association] in 1975 and 1976. A native of Winston-Salem, N. C., Johnny is a United States Army veteran and a distinguished military graduate. He has a M.S. degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. He is single. John Stucky: John Stucky, 32, is in his first season at N. C. State and is the defensive line coach. He comes to the Wolfpack from a three-year stint at Arkansas, where he helped the Razorbacks to three bowl games. He also coached at Wichita State and Kansas State. A native of Moundridge, Kansas, John was an all-Big Eight nose guard at Kansas State as well as being named academic all-Big Eight. He was named the outstanding defensive player fo the 1969 Blue-Gray game. John, married to the former Jeannie Scott of Fayetteville, [Arkansas], is also in charge of the Wolfpack's strength program.
