Title:
Sugar Pine and White Fir
Description:
This is a photograph of some pine and fir trees near Sierra National Forest, California. Sugar pine - white fir type. All the trees visible in this picture are sugar pine (P. lambertiana) except one white fir in right background and a couple of yellow pines (P. ponderosa)in left background. The picture shows, however, how reproduction of white fir (Abies concolor) tends to predominate over that of pines in dense forest. Ellis Meadow, above North fork, Sierra Nat. Forest, California."
