- Julia Wolfe (operated boardinghouse for consumptives), twentieth century owner
- Architectural note:
- The home was restored in the 1970s and again following severe damage from a 1998 fire.
- Historical note:
- The building was the boyhood home of writer Thomas Wolfe. The house has also been referred to as "The Old Kentucky Home," which was the name used for the boardinghouse. The building currently functions as museum and memorial to Wolfe. The home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, as a North Carolina Historic Site, and as a National Historical Landmark.
