The interviews with Roger Caras are from 2000 and were conducted by Kim Stallwood. Roger Caras was president of the ASPCA from 1991 to 1999, and was also a writer, broadcaster, and announcer for the Westminster Dog Show. Under his leadership, the ASPCA began its extensive and influential spay and neuter campaign, which encouraged animal population control over euthanasia. The interviews are part of the oral histories created by the Animal Rights Network, an activist organization that worked to unite local, national, and international animal rights groups to achieve shared goals.
