This recording was conducted in the Talley Student Union on the campus of North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina, at the Wolf Tales Last Day of Classes (LDOC) 2017 Open Recording Day. In the recording, Emily Zucker (‘17) and Brittany Hunt, Assistant Director of Native American Student Affairs, discuss: being sisters in Alpha Pi Omega, Native American sorority at NC State; Hunt’s role as Assistant Director for Native American Student Affairs; Hunt’s origins in Lumberton, NC, and identity as a member of the Lumbee tribe; what brought each of them to NC State; seeing Native students take on more leadership roles and creating community; Zucker’s positive memories of Harrelson Hall; wanting to see the Native student population at NC State grow in the future; their friendship and appreciation for each other’s contribution to the community; and significant people who have impact Zucker including Jamila Simpson, Wes Wade, Brittany Hunt, and Jenna Hartwell.
