The D. H. Hill Jr. Library will be closed beginning on Monday, May 5, 2025, for planned electrical work. The Special Collections Research Center is located in Hill Library, and will be closed for all appointments during this period. Special Collections can only make appointment requests until April 25th and after August 3, 2025. During the closure, Special Collections staff will be available to answer questions about our collections, if they are accessible, and to support researchers using digital materials for their research. Wolf Tales recording with Sarah Egan Warren: Sisterhood Day, 26 February 2018
Description:
This recording was conducted in the Talley Student Union on the campus of North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina, at the 2018 Sisterhood Day program. Sarah Egan Warren discusses arriving at NC State in 1996, and her experience over 22 years as a student, staff member, and faculty member. She describes her experiences as the Resident’s Director of Carroll Hall in University Housing in its last year as a female-only dormitory, and being on-call during the impact of Hurricane Fran. Warren also recounts her experiences working in the Registrar’s Office, earning her Master’s Degree in technical communication from NC State, and her acceptance thereafter of a non-tenure track teaching position in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Warren’s career highlights include the creation of ENG 331, building early online curriculum in 2001, creating a TA training program, creating a study abroad program for Engineering students in 2008, and working with the Institute for Advanced Analytics on Centennial Campus; which she eventually joined as a Technical Communication Specialist in 2015.
